The Castle Buying Group is recognized in the industry for its forward-thinking leadership, experienced management team, professional buyers and finance experts. Together with the Business Development Managers, the team is focused on the profitability and growth of each of the 300+ independent retailers and wholesalers across Canada.

Ken Jenkins, President

Ken has worked in the LBM business for over 17 years, including senior management experience in the manufacture of building products. He has a keen understanding of the relationship among vendors, manufacturers and the independents, as well as a thorough understanding of the contractor and consumer base in every region of the country. Ken's highest priority for Castle is to "buy competitively day to day" in order to keep its independent dealers competitive. "The result is that Castle shareholders enjoy greater returns today than ever before. There can be no greater testament to the strength of the team we've built," says Ken. "My job is to make them stronger and stronger."

James Jones, Vice President

James has over 24 years experience in the home improvement industry, working in retail, commercial and industrial and has been buying and merchandising with some of Canada's largest regional and national retailers including Lansing Buildall, Aikenheads, Réno-Dépôt, Home Depot Canada and Rona. James is ideally suited to negotiate the best buys in Castle's core business - lumber and plywood, gypsum, insulation, roofing and siding as well as millwork (moulding, doors and windows). Plus the hardlines to help you complete the sale. In addition, James continues to head a variety of Castle's valued-added programs such as central invoicing, buying, weekly updates, retail price comparisons, comparative store benchmarking and Castlecare health, financial and marketing programs.

Bruce Holman, National - Director of Business Development

Bruce is the Business Development Manager for Ontario & Quebec regions. Bruce has worked in the LBM business for over 30 years with the last 22 years in a mid-management role at the distribution level. During this time he has built a great understanding of the needs of the independent retail building supply dealer as well as the needs of the distributor. "It is this understanding of the needs of both sides of the distribution channel that has enabled Castle to build a strong relationship with both its membership and the vendor community, while operating in an atmosphere of honesty and integrity," says Bruce. Bob Delaney, Newfoundland and Labrador - Business Development Manager

Bob is the Business Development Manager for Newfoundland and Labrador. Bob brings several years of industry experience to the table and was proud owner of the J.M. Delaney Lumber Company in Stephenville, NL until he recently handed over the reins to brother Wayne earlier this year. J.M. Delaney Lumber was originally founded back in 1956 by father Jerome Delaney and has been a proud Castle member since 1978. “I'm looking forward to working with Castle dealers and this is a great opportunity. I am thrilled with this great venture in my life. If I had to imagine my dream job, it would be this new role with Castle." says Bob. Terry Mulock, Maritimes - Business Development Manager

Terry Mulock joins Castle after a 10-year career as Regional Sales Manager of Pittsburgh Paints where he was integral in the growth and awareness of this brand in the Atlantic region. Terry’s wealth of knowledge in the home improvement industry and dedication have built a foundation of solid relationships within the region. Terry has been in the industry for almost 30 years and has worked closely with many Castle locations on regional marketing and promotional events to help drive sales and brand awareness. His reputation and experience ensures that Castle members will continue to receive the on-going commitment and support from the Castle business development team. Doug Keeling, Ontario - Business Development Manager

Doug Keeling is the Business Development Manager for the Ontario region and has almost 35 years of industry experience in construction, hardware, lumber and building materials. In addition to being a carpenter and running his own renovation business in the past, Doug has several decades of business experience with national home Improvement retailers and companies, and almost a decade of experience as part of the Castle buying team. His retail, purchasing and construction background gives Doug an excellent understanding of the unique needs of the independent retailer, and he looks forward to using his experience to help Castle dealers grow their business, flourish, and become more profitable. “Castle is truly the best choice in the marketplace for independent dealers. Matthew Raetsen, Saskatchewan & Manitoba - Business Development Manager

Matthew Raetsen is Castle's Business Development Manager for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. His solid industry experience includes many years with Ply Gem Canada, where most recently his role was Branch and Brand Manager of Mitten/Ply Gem. Matthew's very professional and energetic attitude and his professionalism and genuine approach have resulted in a strong relationship base in Western Canada. Brad Dixon, British Columbia & Alberta - Business Development Manager

Brad's extensive knowledge of British Columbia and Alberta markets and its members will enhance the potential for Castle's continued growth. His years with hardware distributors including Orgill Hardlines Canada, one of the world's largest independent hardware distributors, has given him vast industry experience.  Brad has held Senior Business Development roles on both the Member and Vendor side. As a Business Development Manager with Castle, Brad supports Western members and is responsible for all activities associated with regional expos, regional pool buys and selected vendor relations.
